Message from the Officer Responsible for Sustainability

Our business operates in an environment increasingly shaped by geopolitical volatility, the need to address climate change, and increasingly complex supply chains. Against this backdrop, mineral resources are becoming ever more important as the foundation for social infrastructure, manufacturing, next-generation mobility, and the realization of a carbon-neutral society.
For Mitsubishi Corporation RtM Japan, sustainability is not a standalone initiative separate from our day-to-day business. Rather, guided by the spirit embodied in Mitsubishi Corporation’s Three Corporate Principles, it means putting into practice our Mission (Become the Foundation of Industries), Vision (Co-create Value with Partners and Enrich Society), and Value (1. Value relationships with people; 2. Have a broad perspective; 3. Challenge ourselves to reach new heights) through our daily business activities. Through our mineral resources trading business, we aim to create economic, social, and environmental value and contribute to the realization of a sustainable and prosperous society. We believe this is the foundation for our own sustainable growth.
To put this into practice, we position materiality as an important guide that serves as a bridge between our Management Philosophy and our day-to-day business activities. While fulfilling our social responsibility to ensure a stable supply of mineral resources, we will sincerely address supply chain issues related to the environment and human rights, decarbonization, and resource circulation, and translate these efforts into value creation through our business. To this end, we will deepen collaboration with customers and business partners and strengthen our management foundation in areas such as human resources, digital capabilities, and governance. We will also respond appropriately to the evolving expectations of society and markets as we strive to remain a company trusted by all stakeholders.
We will continue to stay attuned to changes in society and markets, translate them into new business value, and respond sincerely to the expectations of our stakeholders. Through steady value creation in mineral resources trading, we will contribute to the realization of a sustainable and prosperous society.
