The Thermal Coal Department handles thermal coal, used mainly as fuel for electric power generation.

Taking maximum advantage of the global networks of the Mitsubishi Corporation RtM Group and Mitsubishi Corporation, the department conducts thermal coal trading on a global scale. As the Japan base of the Mitsubishi Corporation RtM Group, it helps ensure a stable supply to Japanese customers by introducing competitive thermal coal from around the world, as well as meeting the diverse and high-level needs of customers by providing them with market information and using derivatives to stabilize prices.
